Ingenuity’s flagship product, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) was and is an incredibly powerful tool for the pharma industry. IPA allows researchers to cross-reference published research, on a molecular level, in a visual way. Though the visual design is lacking, it was imperative ensure this tool, and its new features, were as usable as possible for a highly discriminating audience.
The reagent feature was unique for its commerce component. Reagents were a particularly hot topic at the time of this project, and our new feature was, in many ways, a means of shopping for a reagent as it was research.
We formulated our requirements using user interviews and surveys, and validated our design with in-house usability testing.
